By becoming a member you will receive our Newsletter (Fossil News) every three months by snail mail or see the latest news, articles and field trip information by logging in to the Newsletter area. There is also a section for childres to download some cool stuff.
Instructions to download a membership form:
You can download the membership form by clicking the Membership Form button above. The form is a Microsoft Word file. After opening the form please click Enable Editing at the top of the page to continue.. If you require the form in another format please contact the Treasurer or the Secretary.
Unfortunately we have no facility for payment online except direct deposit (see below). So please mail your cheque or postal money order together with the Membership form to:

Cheques – cheques can be deposited into the Westpac Bank using the BSB & Account No. above. Write on the Application Form next to Cheque deposit: your cheque number, amount paid and date of payment then mail it to the Treasurer above. Alternatively you can mail both cheque and Application Form to the Treasurer.
EFT – to the above BSB and Account No. with your Reference: Mship and your initial & surname (e.g. Mship J Smith). Tick the EFT deposit box then scan the Application Form and email it or tick the EFT deposit box and mail the Application Form to the Treasurer above. If you require a receipt please provide a stamped self-address envelop with your application.

Membership Renewal Due 1st June of each year
Your membership fees cover the cost of printing in black and white and postage in Australia of the Club’s quarterly magazine, The Fossil News. New members joining after January 1st are financial until June 30th of the same year but pay only half of the annual membership fee for this period. No fees will be charged from 1 May to 30 June if the new member pays the full applicable fee for the following year. Postage to other countries not listed above, please contact the Editor firstname.lastname@example.org.
Personal accident insurance is compulsory for all members at $3.50 per member..
If you are a member of a lapidary, gem or mineral club and paid insurance there you will already have been covered - please provide proof of insurance.
Please list full name(s) of all family members applying for membership. For those 16 years and under, their date(s) of birth must be included, for insurance purposes. Member who are below 8 years of age or above 90 years of age are not covered by insurance and must their own insurance or be responsible for themself or in the care of their carer.
- Please contact trip Leader at least 2 wks. before a field trip.
- If it is a LONG WEEKEND TRIP, at least 3wks before so that arrangements can be made.
- If numbers are insufficient trips may be cancelled.
- If there is any question due to weather conditions please the trip leader.
Members should plan to arrive at the meeting locations well before the given departure times, which will be strictly adhered to. If you are unavoidably detained/delayed then contact trip leader's mobile so special arrangements can be made.
If your travelling on your own, can you arrange to give a contact Number of family/friend in case of accident.
ALWAYS remember to bring hard-hat if we are going into a quarry Re insurance cover.
Always bring extra fresh water with you.
Carry a small personal first aid kit/bag.
The Club always has a FIRST AID kit available - people do move around & become separated sometimes through the day.
Note: No visitors on field trips. The trip organiser and designated officers are in charge at all times and given instructions must be adhered to. MEETING TIMES AND PLACES WILL BE ADVISED WHEN YOU REGISTER FOR EACH TRIP.
MOST IMPORTANT NOTICE * *
AT THE END OF THE DAY AND YOU ARE LEAVING THE FIELD SITE PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE ALWAYS A COUPLE OF CARS LEAVING TOGETHER -NEVER LEAVE A SITE LEAVING SOMEBODY ON THEIR OWN.
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LEFT LOCKED IN QUARRIES.
